Abstract

The self-concept is the perception and opinion we have about ourselves. It is formed as of the experiences and relationships we build with the environment; also, within its own configuration, the environmental reinforcement and meaningful people play a very important role. It is vital to know how self-concept works in Primary and Secondary students, and together with the educational intervention of teachers contributing and supporting their development and construction of a clear idea of oneself in critical periods during the formation of this construct. We analyze the influence of variables such as sex, age, institution and practice of physical activity on physical self-concept from Primary and Secondary students. We appreciate the existence of marked differences regarding these variables
