El grupo Modelización Estadística y Matemática en Ingeniería y Ciencias (MEMIC) es un grupo multidisciplinar con vocación integradora de diferentes aspectos relacionados con la ciencia y la ingeniería. Se caracteriza por abordar problemas y propuestas originadas en diferentes campos y ramas de conocimiento. Sus integrantes han investigado en líneas tan diversas como Termodinámica de fluidos, Eficiencia energética, Transicion energetica de sistemas energeticos sostenibles, Bioestadística, Paleoecología y Evolución humana. Todo ello manteniendo siempre una metodología basada en la comprensión del entorno originario del problema, modelado, análisis cuantitativo, así como la posterior explicación de las posibles propuestas en el contexto del ámbito en el que el problema ha sido formulado.
