Résumé

The selective sentinel lymph node biopsy (BSGC) is a suitable technique for determining the allocation of the axillary lymph nodes in breast cancer T1-T2 N0. The morbidity of axillary lymphadenectomy (LA) could be avoided in cases with BSGC negative. However, 50% of patients with metastatic sentinel node metastases subsequently submitted additional lymph nodes after axillary lymphadenectomy.Mathematical models have been developed (nomograms), which allow calculate the probability of lymph node involvement, or the likelihood of involvement of other nodes when the sentinel is positive. This would allow, in the first case, decide whether or not perform the BSGC or, in the second case, the axillary lymph node dissection. The aim of our study is to provide an assessment of the accuracy of a nomogram applied to patients with breast cancer in the population of Extremadura and with indication of selective biopsy of sentinel lymph node (BSGC), to determine if it could be an useful tool when making decisions at some point in the therapeutic process, fixing also the diagnostics indications.
