This research aims at assessing emotional development in pre-school education in the second cycle, namely 2nd year (N = 123) belonging to the Community of Castilla y Leon.Emotional competencies of students in Early Childhood Education are analyzed. Specifically, the ability to recognize and express emotions (emotional awareness), regulate emotions (emotional regulation), take the place of another (social competence) and identify and solve problems (life skills for welfare).The results have a significant impact as highlight the need to assess the emotional processes in infancy to promote an improvement in socio-emotional skills of students in Early Childhood Education and increase them throughout their academic training for their development.
