Abstract

The cornerstone of sleep apnea syndrome /obstructive sleep hypopnea is the occurrence of recurrent episodes of airflow limitation during sleep due to anatomic disruption of the upper airway leading to its collapse, causing decreases in saturation oxyhemoglobin and arousals.
