Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyze the factors that influence the transition of Spanish youth to the labour market, paying special attention to those variables related to the educational system. After introducing the evolution of the age of transition, based both on primary sources not used before and on an exhaustive review of the literature on the subject, we perform an econometric analysis based on data from the Survey of Labour. The most important finding points out that the probability of a successful transition to labour market of college students (3 years or first degree) and higher vocational training are similar to those with an university degree (5 or more years or second degree)
