Participación de niños y adolescentes con parálisis cerebral en actividades de ocio

Resumen

Los niños y adolescentes con parálisis cerebral (PC) tienen un mayor riesgo de presentar restricción en la participación social. El objetivo de este estudio fue describir el perfil de participación en las actividades de ocio de los niños y adolescentes con PC que viven en la Comunidad de Castilla y León e identificar si el nivel de la función motora gruesa determina la participación. Fueron evaluados 63 niños y adolescentes con PC a través de la versión española del Children’s Assessment of Participation and Enjoyment (CAP). La distribución según el nivel del funcionamiento motor se realizó mediante el Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS). Los resultados del estudio han demostrado que los niños y adolescentes participaron en un rango limitado de actividades, menos en actividades formales que en informales, siendo la diversidad y la intensidad de participación baja. Por último, los niños con Niveles I, II y III tuvieron niveles más altos de diversidad e intensidad de participación. Los resultados de este estudio han demostrado que los niños y adolescentes con PC participan en pocas actividades de ocio, aunque muestran niveles altos de disfrute.
