Modulación emocional en la valoración de la expresión facial ¿Artefacto o realidad?

Résumé

The emotional modulation in the assessment of facial expression has been found with traditional methods of emotion induction, but little is known about the role played by valence and activation in the modulation of associated emotions. A sample of 30 participants evaluated, using a scale from 1 to 9, facial expressions that had been preceded by 4 types of photographs selected from the International Afecctive Picture System ( IAPS) and classified according their levels of valence (negative and positive) and arousal (medium and high). we show that the emotional content of photographs did not affect the assessment of facial expression, but yes of the time invested in the assessment. These results allow us to question the consistency of the emotional congruence effect and they suggest a reinterpretation of the concept to fit the observed complexity of affect modulation depending on valence and arousal levels.
