Resumen

Introduction: own changes of aging process produce various alterations, directly affecting the daily lives of the elderly and personal autonomy. Some changes are unique to the age and others are disease-related issues such as dementia; both of them have a functional, cognitive, affective and social impact which limit the development of daily activities and elderly’s self- perception of quality of life. Methodology in the following case, it speaks on everyday cognition mainly, which focuses on training memory, processing speed, reasoning, calculation or language; not being its ultimate goal that the person improves these basic cognitive abilities, that cognitive performance in order to be able to perform daily tasks independently and be able to solve problems that are present in daily life often. Conclusion intervention programs training on everyday cognition from occupational therapy's perspective in a home environment setting produced functional improvements in the patient.
