Zusammenfassung
Introduction The term cancer encompasses many different types of genetic diseases. A significant decrease in mortality rate is presented in this group of diseases. For this reason, it becomes a chronic disease of which we must ponder the most suitable intervention. Methodology For daily clinical practices, we observe how the long-term beridden status of these patients leads to development a great dependency. Therefore, we consider a new approach, using rehabilitation strategies based on a frame theory named “Rehabilitation through functional integration”, which core approach is to treat dysfunction with function. Exposition of the case A 16 year old patient is diagnosed with a right frontal primitive neuroepithelial tumor neuroblastoma type. After 45 days of absolute bed rest, we start the rehabilitation programme. Question for the reader May the application of a new functional rehabilitation programme developed from an occupational therapy perspective, within an interdisciplinary work context, reduce the levels of cancer-related fatigue in the patient? Woud it subsequently improve his autonomy? Conclusions The patient after the intervention presents: Reduction of the levels of tumoral asthenia Improvement of autonomy disorder.
