Abstract

Students in “Social Sciences” degrees come from diverse academic itineraries. This fact can cause different mathematical and statistical knowledge level and in many cases students’ level is not suitable for completing their university degrees in Economics or Business Administration. The lack of a good basis of statistical/mathematical thinking can induce students to focus on the operational aspect. This project develops online teaching material aimed at fist-year students at the Faculty of Economics and Business in order to mitigate the aforementioned problem and therefore, to reduce the number of early university leavers, improving then students’ academic performance.
