Abstract
Objective: to describe the situation of long-lived subjects in a residential area and at home regarding factors influencing the quality of life in addition to compare sporting activity influence on Alzheimer disease status in residential patients with those who live at home. Methods: descriptive and comparative cross-sectional study was carried out with random sampling of users over 64 years, creating two groups, primary care and other residential area measures: Mini-Mental Status Test, Barthel index, Life Quality Evaluation, Physical Activity Questionnaire. Results: the research showed better quality of life, less cognitive impairment and increased physical activity in primary care users shows that in the residential area. According to our data, the greatest achievement of physical activity is associated with a lower risk of cognitive impairment. In relation to major differences (p≤,05) observed between group of people who live at home in contrast to those who live at residential centre, highlighting health indicators such as cholesterol levels, visceral disease, depression and quality of life behaviors such as to maintain a balanced diet, practice of physical exercise or rehabilitation therapy. Conclusion: there is significant influence of sporting and physical activity on deterioration to Alzheimer's disease. People who live at home done highest physical activity than people who live at residential centre that done passive activity.
