Resumen

This poster shows an interpretive analysis of the phenomenon of trafficking in human beings, from the colonial period (sixteenth to nineteenth century) to the present. Historical facts and maps show human trafficking should be seen as a global question of social tolerance towards this historical phenomenon of exploitation and violence. Contemporary forms of trafficking are deeply rooted in power relations related to the structure of social, ethnic, cultural and gendered inequality. Currently, different characteristics of the global context contribute to increased trafficking, conditions of impunity and more economic incomes than ever before
