Background: Virtual education tools, such as blogs, can be a fundamental educational aid for teaching learning process. Therefore, the main aim of this project is to strengthen the competence acquisition in a subject taught in the Educational University School of Zamora, through the use of an active learning methodology consisting of the creation of a subject blog. Method: Students of the subject Child Developmental Psychology (n= 44), under the supervision of t he teacher, created a subject blog and uploaded several posts related to child development. A questionnaire was developed to examine students’: a) level of competence acquisition in the subject; b) satisfaction with the blog and perception on its usefulnes s; c) perception on the advantages. Results: Results obtained indicate that students are very satisfied with the subject blog, and consider it a useful tool with many advantages in the competence acquisition. Conclusions: Subject blog seems to be an approp riate and useful tool to improve the students’ learning and participation in the subject.
