Resum

The Nazi Holocaust against the Jewry was one of the most horrible historical event, even one of the most employees scenaries in contemporary cinema. But, it was not always the case. Since the liberations of the concentration camps shooting, the 50's and 60's obscurity or the subsequent fictionalization of historical fact, the representation of the Shoah has been adhered to international political situation. Alain Resnais directed Night and fog in 1955. The film was making ten years after in a diferent political circunstance. The medium lenght film is one of the first reflection about the existence and moral implications of concentrations camps. The research is based on the idea that the image, specially cinema, is an important source to understand the History. This investigation aims to analyze the french´s film to assess how that historical event is view in a Western European in the midst of the Cold War.
