Abstract

: In this work the relationships between visual attention (by an eye tracking system) and the reported attention have been studied (by an interview and two graphic questionnaires). The participants indicated the locations that they considered the more important ones, after two series of serves performed by wheelchair tennis and tennis players, as much in a video projection situation as in real world situation. Three groups participated in the study: novice wheelchair tennis players, experienced wheelchair tennis players and tennis players (without disability). The results showed that the higher agreement was obtained for the ball, which received longer visual fixations. We also find some relationship between the little importance given to the lower body among the visual behaviour data and the indications of the participants. Therefore, it is possible that the athletes know some important locations of the environment for their performance, but they are not able to describe them by verbal protocols.
