Abstract
Intergenerational Education has become over recent decades in the best choice when the need to facilitate communication, cooperation and training between generations arises from the demographic changes that are occurring around the world, especially in developed countries. Each day there are more and more professionals and researchers in the field of intergenerational work demanding greater rigor in the development and implementation of interventions in this field. So much so, that in order to design future programs that fit these characteristics and needs, empirical effectiveness and efficiency of a total of 50 such studies was contrasted in a recent review paper. Or the differences between the characteristics of the samples, detected bias in the design of the different studies, or the type of intervention employed in them seem to influence the success and scientific rigor of these. Instead, it has been tried as a greater compliance with empirically based indicators such as the generalization of results, training of trainers, monitoring, intervention protocol, or recording session; and the variables of focus or dimension of quality of life worked as well as the participants´ disorders, determine the effectiveness of interventions. The implications of these findings are discussed, confirming the need to increase the level of demand for compliance of the empirically based indicators (IBE); and the provision, based on the lack of studies found for the combined modality of intervention, to implement online programs, to ensure the efficiency of the proceedings.
