Résumé

This report presents a study of variables affecting teachers attitudes towards mainstreaming children with special needs in 16 ordinary education schools in the province of Guipúzcoa. However, no significant relations were found between the teachers attitudes and childrens sex, mother tongue, kind of centre, degree of technical or administrative support, and length of contact with the children (mainstreaming time). Relations were found between attitude variables and the number of pupils per class, extracurricular activities, information, diagnostic label, educational grade, and the teachers age. Attitudes generally tend to be positive. Results are analysed and discussed, and the importance of a multidimensional approach to the study of teachers attitudes towards mainstreaming children with special needs is underlined.
