Resumen
The article gives a brief description of the General Library of the University of Salamanca: its creation, its location and, above all, its funds prior to the 18th century in the Italian language. The General Library of the University of Salamanca had to attend to the needs of all branches of knowledge that were part of the University’s studies, hence its transversality. Starting from this principle of transversality, I wanted to stop in this work in a very appreciated author in Italy and Spain during the seventeenth century, Virgilio Malvezzi, an author who achieved great success in Italy, Spain and throughout Europe in the seventeenth century. He writes political literature and is considered the introducer of the laconic style in Spain
