Abstract
In the last two decades, a large conceptual and methodological effort has been made from the geographical discipline to interpret the processes of territorial heritagization. In this process, concepts such as heritage landscapes and associated notions, such as heritage vectors, have acquired a notable role. In this context, this contribution proposes to underline the role of new tools and massive data sources, such as those provided by Instagram. The municipality of Valderas, representative of the Tierra de Campos region, has been chosen as the field of work and example, as Professor Alonso Ponga did two decades ago (1999a). The heritage value of many material and immaterial elements that make up these everyday landscapes has been demonstrated in the broad and solid work from the settlement of medieval origin (Alonso Ponga 1981), the festivities and popular religiosity (1999b), to the mud-brick architecture and earth structures (Alonso Ponga 1990, 1994). The main objective of this work is to know to what extent Instagram, and especially the photos with spatial information of their public profiles, can become an instrument for the identification of local identity vectors in everyday landscapes.
