Resumen
This paper quantifies the level of multidimensional poverty in Spain and its regions with the data provided by the Survey of Income and Living Conditions of 2008 and 2011. Different poverty measures proposed from the counting approach are used and a proposal concerning the establishment of multidimensional poverty lines is also presented. The results reflect a deterioration in the level of multidimensional poverty in Spain between 2007 and 2010, as well as an increase in poverty measures calculated using the mentioned thresholds for both the national aggregate and most of its regions, without important changes in the position of the communities in poverty orderings. This worsening is mainly caused by the deterioration of the indicators related to the labor market.
