Abstract
The Hospital Simón Ruíz or de la Concepción and San Diego de Alcalá, was built at the end of the 16th century and inaugurated at the beginning of the 17th century. It was an architectural model as a building and provided a vanguard disposition for the time of the health facilities different from the hospitals of the time. Its great amplitude, rooms with individualized hospitalization niches and complementary dependencies, gave it characteristics for a better isolation of contagious diseases while avoiding the overcrow- ding of hospitalized patients. Its hard work for almost four centuries and its management was carried out by a Foundation that administered the center, and on the other hand maintained the historical archive of its founder in relation to all the documents of his professional banker activity.
