Abstract
The Erasmus SeLFiE (STEAM educational approach and foreign language learning in Europe) is an European project approved in 2020 with the aim of improving bilingual teaching in linguistic and non-linguistic subjects, particularly in science subjects in Early Childhood and Primary Education in a STEAM learning environment. The project is directed by the Faculty of Education of the University of Burgos and has the collaboration of several European universities, as well as several early childhood and primary schools in various countries. Integrating the arts, and in particular music, in this context is a challenge of the first order for any teacher, which makes it necessary to design and articulate a series of tools that allow the non-music specialist teacher to approach the STEAM environment with a minimum of technical criteria. This text presents a preliminary analysis of the advantages of song in this environment during primary education. Moreover, a series of technical-musical criteria and guidelines are proposed that allow the teacher to make a selection as appropriate as possible to the age and psycho- evolutionary stage of his students. In such a way that the song gains strength not only as a didactic tool in itself, but as an artistic value.
