Abstract
Both the Generalist Dentist and Oral Surgeon, have a range of suture materials, organic or inorganic origin, in general, could be classified as non-absorbable or absorbable sutures. Its size and structure, are normalized, both in the European Pharmacopoeia, as an American. This article seeks to analyze the different types of sutures used in oral surgery, its advantages and disadvantages as well as the body's reaction to them, in accordance with the guidelines that the scientific literature, brand today.
