App Móvil de ayuda a la decisión para el aprendizaje de la asignatura “Oftalmología” en el Grado de Medicina de la Universidad de Valladolid

One of the sectors that bases the improvement of the development of its activities in the technological advances is Medicine. Medical professionals use day-to-day systems that help them to perform their tasks, such as electronic medical records (EMRs), decision support systems, electronic prescription, etc. Medical students must be prepared from the University to deal with working life. Ophthalmology is one of the most technified. In addition, eye diseases affect large numbers of people. Decision support systems in ophthalmology can also facilitate the teaching and learning process of medical students. The objective of this chapter is the development and evaluation of a mobile app in Android to aid in the diagnosis of anterior segment eye diseases, in addition to offer medical students educational contents on the pathologies. All information on the app will be extracted from the handbook “Scripts about Ophthalmology: Learning based on competencies” of the authors José Carlos Pastor Jimeno, Professor of ophthalmology, and Miguel José Maldonado López, Associate Professor of ophthalmology, at the University of Valladolid, Spain.
