Resumen

This paper presents the design and implementation of a series of didactic proposals that have been carried out in the framework of an interdisciplinary Teaching Innovation Project of the University of Valladolid, called SciencePro. This project involves teachers from the areas of Didactics of Language and Literature, Didactics of Experimental Sciences and English Philology which promotes the development of specific skills in the students of third and fourth courses of Primary Education of the Mention Foreign Language: English. The first one shows how we deal with the teaching of the English language proper. It is a written text, or Reading Comprehension, through which we intend to recognize the needs of learning and assessment of the comprehension of a scientific issue in English, as well as several linguistic aspects of grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, some idioms, the reformulation of questions and answers, new attempts at rewriting definitions and the wording of summaries, among others, all prompted by, and present in, the chosen text. The second part consists of working the disciplinary content of Science at a Primary Education level using Experimental Sciences methodologies proper, mainly practical, active and participatory, to provide students with additional training for the future exercise of their profession.
