Abstract

There has been a boom in studies and proposals for recognition and management of heritage in recent decades. The different administrations have promoted their identification, protection and recognition in different ways, because this heritage is initially identified with singular elements, but later it incorporates the value of the whole of the territory. However, there is no complete process of patrimonial recognition if the social involvement of the people who live and use that space or asset is not linked to that official recognition, as UNESCO, the European Landscape Convention and many authors have pointed out. In any case, the perceptive values present very diverse forms and levels according to the social collective of reference. An example of this diverse reality has been obtained from the practice of approaching the knowledge and assessment of the heritage according to the students of Secondary School. Students from six schools in different neighborhoods of the city have completed a series of "Collective Mapping" workshops, within the framework of the Heritage Restoration and Management Fair (AR & PA), held in Valladolid in October 2016. The objective has been to evaluate its perception of the heritage, its valuation and its degree of knowledge of the cultural interest goods (BIC). This communication presents the method and some results of that experience.
