ln the subject Environmental and Process Technology, common to all engineering belong to industrial branch, a case study methodology has been applied. The aim of this learning strategy is that the students, through the analysis of a basic industrial process (p.e. solid waste incineration, production of olive oil, etci), integrate the knowledge of engineering processes with the technology and environmental management. From the initial presentation of the production processes guided by the twcher, students study the steps involved, evaluate the levels of consumption of raw materials and energy, waste and emissions, exami inc major environmental impaets ancl Best Available Techniques (BATs) that can be applied in selected process in order to achieve a high level of environmental protection as a whole process, The use of this teaching strategy has allowed students cnlrench the theoretical content of the course as a whole while developing communication skills, self learning and capacity for analysis and synthesis
