The Balance of Competencies (BdC) is presented as a strategy of professional guidance beneficial both for the processes of professional counselling, and to the improvement, that its method can give to professional guidance programs and services. So far in Spain, although at the academic level insists on the suitability of the BdC in professional counselling, there has been no specialized university training according to the European quality standards proposed by the European Federation of Centers of Balance and Professional Guidance (FECBOP). Therefore the practice of the BdC could not be carried out by accredited consultant specialists according to the European guidelines to practice. The research group Socio-labor Transitions and Promotion of Employability (TSE) of the UNED opens in 2015 a line of work related to the training of consultants specialized in BdC, and working togueder with Observal, the Observatory of Validation of Professional Competences belonging to The FECBOP Network in Spain, which is carrying out several pilot projects at the University of Valladolid, presents as a result, for the first time in Spain, a University formation in BdC Consulting that qualifies to practice as a BdC Consultant in accredited centers. Integrated into the European Network, which is still coming in our country.
