Abstract

The classical sources referring to the antique ceramic industry are scarce, scattered and show great qualitative disparity. In spite of all this, their inclusion in the study of the CPUs is essential, to get a more accurate knowledge and interpretation of the industrial models that archaeology begins to reveal. A critical feature, is the organization of the production that arises from the archeological interpretation of the praedia, cretifonidae, figlinae and officin. As well as the dominusofficinator duality from Dressel and Helen¿s thesis. This defines somo specified models in Rome, which contrast with those from other areas of the empire (e.g.The Tarraconense). Also, a new reading of the Lex Ursonensis 76 is proposed; different from the one did by Mommsen or Mingazzini an early public control of the brickwork industry is recognized.
