Resumen

Tradicionalmente el estudio, medición y diseño de políticas sociales en torno a la idea de bienestar han girado en torno a indicadores económicos. Sin embargo, estudios recientes reclaman la pertinencia de incorporar indicadores de tipo subjetivo que se hagan cargo de cuestiones hasta ahora relegadas a la esfera privada de las familias, tales como el cuidado o la percepción de felicidad. Siguiendo estos antecedentes, desde una perspectiva que pretende integrar aportaciones de dos ciencias sociales como son la sociología y la geografía, el presente escrito plantea una revisión crítica de la literatura sobre el bienestar subjetivo, atendiendo al ámbito del cuidado, como elemento clave del bienestar, así como una revisión de los indicadores disponibles. El objetivo último de esta propuesta sería ofrecer justificaciones y claves metodológicas que permitan integrar en el análisis del bienestar las variables del cuidado y el territorio. A fin de facilitar esta revisión, se tomará como ámbito de estudio el espacio geográfico europeo.
