Abstract

In this article we work on questioning certain aspects of the audiovisual configuration of Rapture (Iván Zulueta, 1979) in order to reveal its fantasmatic structure and reflect on the nature of the cinematographic device. We take as reference the contributions of semiotics, the Gestalt theory and psychoanalysis. This is considered an exemplary text, that questions the experience of jouissance and offers a detailed analysis of the film-maker’s practise, who will end up killing his characters with his work tool: the camera.
