Resumen
Oriented damage associated to instrumental earthquakes (directionality) provides relevant information to be incorporated to archaeoseismic data. The oriented damage is directly related with earthquakes by using classic techniques on structural geology based on brittle deformation. In this work, we have calibrated archaeoseismology methodology with seismic parameters from data collected during the immediate hours after the Lorca earthquake (Mw 5.1, 5-11-2011) throughout the centre of the city. As a result, we have obtained a well-constrained value for the direction maximum horizontal shortening with NW-trending. This is similar to the orientation of maximum horizontal displacement obtained from the accelerograph placed at the centre of the city as well.
