Résumé

The present research work finds itself at the crossroads of two areas of knowledge: the area of Linguistics, with regard to the problematic of Phraseology – specifically the contrastive phraseology in Spanish and Romanian – and the area of Didactics of Language and Literature, with regard to the issues concerning students' education and training in the field of Hispanic Philology, which is part of the academic field of Higher Education in Romania. The focus is on the contrastive analysis of phraseological units (PUs) in Spanish and Romanian, while also pinpointing their status as linguistic and discursive expressions and structures pervasive in oral and written communication in the teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language. Our ultimate aim of this research is to contribute to the creation of a competent professional profile for future philologists, teachers of Spanish as a foreign language and translators in the academic field in Romania. With the overall objective of reporting both semantic and pragmatic differences and similarities underlying the phraseological units in Spanish and Romanian, we collected data from students who completed their degree in Spanish Philology, and whose language of the Specialty B is Spanish (L2). The context of investigation was circumscribed to the Academic field of Higher Education, more specifically the Faculty of Letters. Our research has enabled us: To enrich and qualify the shared common culture on the consolidated notion of phraseological units and their status, from its configuring and defining features to its functional-communicative potentialities, as colloquial expressions that are pervasive in the oral and informal language. However, their presence is easily identifiable in the formal written language as well; therefore, these expressive resources are ubiquitous and atemporal, and they manage to overcome a series of barriers, including the social, register-oriented and temporal ones. To establish a formative profile based on three components, knowledge, aptitudes and phraseological attitudes, within the Romanian academic context, which is in charge of establishing the study plans leading to the degree in Hispanic Philology
