Abstract

This paper presents the study of a ceramic assemblage from a pit made in the roman abandonment phase of the hillfort of Las Quintanas, Pintia (Padilla/Pesquera de Duero, Valladolid). Data obtained revealed the structure was likely a failed artesian well, opened and filled between the end of the I century AC to the first half of the II century AC. In addition, statistical significance of studied pots allows to debate about social dynamics and space reorganization in the last habitational moments of the settlement. Finally, this research highlights the importance of vaccean-roman dump studies to investigate the implantation and substitution processes of pottery in local population during romanization.
