Resumen
In the present paper, pasture nutritional quality from the south-west of Extremadura dehesa wasstudied over a period of two agricultural years (2002-2004). Samples were taken in threemoments: one in winter and two in spring, one of them at the beginning and the other in thefinal part. For all this, several plant sets representative from 6 dehesa fields in the south-west ofExtremadura were checked. Pasture nutritional quality, which is represented by protein contentand fiber, took the following value ranges (refered to dry matter): protein content 12.1-17.3%;neutral detergent fiber (NDF) 33.4-71.2%; acid detergent fiber (ADF) 29.1-39.4%. The studiedpasture nutritional quality, related to protein content and neutral detergent fiber, had significantdifferences between years.
