Resumen

The use of gamification and serious games, in education are booming techniques, whose goal is to improve student’s motivation and learning. This work is a continuation of a previous one, where a serious game designed for Programming Foundations subject was presented. The main characteristics of that proposal were that it was not a computer game and that it was performed outside of the classroom. Here, we focus on the evaluation of the activity, trying to confirm our previous perceptions about the motivation and implication improvements due to the participation in the game. Different aspects related to the influence of the game in the student’s learning, motivation and socialization are evaluated. Also, the game itself is evaluated trying to valuate different aspects as the existence of narrative, the realization outside of the usual work environment and the application or not of penalizations. The results achieved are very positive in all of the aspects evaluated, mainly in those concerning motivation and socialization.
