Abstract

Through this project we try to demonstrate to the companies and our managers that at "zero cost" the students are able to specialize working on industrial projects doing engineering and introducing powerful improvements and low cost solutions. To this end, an approach is made to the professional and specialized application of Lean Manufacturing tools by students and the use of arduino or rapid prototyping to build a low-cost decision support system with functionalities of the Industry 4.0. This solution is validated in an academic environment, to integrate a specialist in the industrial environment. How is this project oriented? Redesigning a workplace by PDCA method as a basic strategy of continuous improvement, implementing and building solutions to reach a position with functionalities 4.0.
