Abstract

This article describes a m-Health prototype developed, called STRAIGHTBACK, consisting of a wearable device that facilitates the improvement of postural habits involving the spine, generating all possible ways to encourage its use and applicability. The sensorisation prototype includes the use of an app with a double objective: on the one hand, to be the link between the device and the database, ensuring that the measurements are processed and stored and also allowing the user to manage all this data in a comprehensive and simple way. It is also linked to its use as a support for a rehabilitation or postural education system, contemplating the assistance of specialists within the foreseen functionalities. The aim of this prototype is to prevent, detect and, ultimately, help to correct the postural problems that affect a large majority of the population in an integrated way and linked to advanced interfaces and technologies. It aims to become a very useful product for diagnosing and preventing back problems, as well as for rehabilitation and monitoring the evolution of the patient once the treatments prescribed by the medical professional have begun or as a method of prevention and self-diagnosis.
