From the philosophical sphere, more and more authors show interest in addressing a philosophical reflection of engineering. On the engineering side, there is a demand defined by professional societies and engineering degree accreditation bodies for the inclusion of social sciences and humanities in the training of engineers, which, however, has shortcomings in its implementation. The aim of this paper is to justify the inclusion of philosophical reflection in the training of engineering graduates and, in order to improve the current situation, to present a proposal for subjects that shows what space there might be for it. The proposal consists of including a specific subject that relates engineering and society, where philosophical reflection plays a significant role, as a complement to the inclusion of philosophical reflection on particular problems in specific technological subjects.
