Abstract

After outlining the trajectory of the enterprise group of Ensesas family (the flour factory, the metallurgist Batlle, Solés & company, the Garatge Callicó, Indústries Químiques Tartàriques, the city-garden of S'Agaró, Suberolita,), the research is specially oriented towards the analysis of the information accounting system of La Montserrat, with the objective of revealing the economical, patrimonial and financial characteristics of the company. From its beginnings, the business activities of the Ensesas family have Catalan, Spanish and international dimensions, that are extended and diversified very quickly during the first third of XX century, specially with els Químics and the residential zone of S'Agaró, where come together the bourgeoisie of Girona, Barcelona and the luxury tourism. Their allegiance to the Catalan bourgeoisie indeed seems to be the reason for the legal proceeding on Political Responsibilities initiated to them in 1939-1940, but, acquitted, they recovered the properties that have been collectivized during the civil war, till the beginning of the Eighties when they proceeded to the liquidation and sale of the groups enterprises.
