Abstract
This article defends the need to include evaluation as part of the didactic progression for learning non-verbal signs in the Spanish as a Foreign Language classroom. So as to contribute to and facilitate the incorporation of this type of evaluation into didactic practices, we reflect on the different types of evaluation for non-verbal signs and, specifically, for emblematic gestures. We address evaluation options that differ according to the elements included, the skills and abilities that are developed in student activities, the time of the evaluation, and the person who carries out the assessment. Thus, we explain the characteristics and classroom applications of the different types of assessment and provide concrete examples of how to put them into practice.
