Resumen
The Achilles tendon is one of the most frequently injured tendons, and can present various types of different conditions. Among them, the tendinopathy of the middle portion of the Achilles tendon is the most frequent. Its etiology is multifactorial, so it is essential to carry out a correct assessment in order to better direct our treatments. Within the tools that we have to assess the Achilles tendon, ultrasound has become more important in recent years because improvements in equipment and the extensive training offered. This has made it possible for ultrasound to become a key point in our research with this increasingly valid and reliable method for the morpho-functional assessment of the musculoskeletal system, in addition to serving as a guide in invasive treatments and as visual feedback to time for therapeutic exercise.
