Abstract
In the present paper we perform the count of the chromosome numbers in six species of the genus Cistus L. from seven populations. We confirm the chromosome numbers of C. albidus (2n = 18), C. psilosepalus (2n = 18, C. salvifolius (2n = 18), C. populifolius (2n = 18), and C. ladanifer var. maculatus (2n = 18), for the first time, the chromosome numbers of C. ladanifer var. albiflorus (n � 9; 2n = 18). We give here, for the first time, the chromosome numbers of C. psilosepalus and C. ladanifer var. maculatus in Spanish plants.
