Abstract
The present paper describes the results of an anatomical study of the stem and leaves of certain species of the genera Cytisus L. and Genista L. from Central- West Spain. The taxonomic significance and the adaptation to their environment are studied. Such adaptation results mainly in placing the stomas, types of furrows, the presence or absence of hairs, growth of chlorenchyma and hidroparenchyma, as well as in the degree of development of sclerenchyma.
