Abstract
Logistic regressions are widely used in analyzing how attitudes toward immigration affects voting behavior. By itsvery nature, this models often are constructed with numerous variables wich present highly collinearity, resulting inhigh standard errors of the coefficients and inaccurate estimations. In a case study of role immigration in the 2016vote for Brexit, this work suggest using orthogonal variables as an alternative of traditional procedures, as their usethus create new interpretations of the transformed variables that are deemed attractive for such analyses as wellas the problem is mitigated.
