Abstract

Roca dels Bous (Camarasa, Lleida), is a Late Middle Paleolithic archaeological site of North-East Iberia. The study of several archaeological units, allows detecting changes in Neanderthal settlement and behaviour. These results characterize the techno-economic attributes of prehistoric human groups, and provide arguments about the variability of Neanderthals behaviour. Technical changes express modifi cations in the mobility patterns and the use of resources located between Ebro valley and the fi rst Pyrenean scarps. This text summarizes the innovations included in the fi eldwork and dissemination strategies. The application of new techniques to catalogue archaeological collections is refl ected by the introduction of Data Matrix codes (DM), Personal Digital Assistants (PDA) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). In parallel to scientifi c publications, our group has aimed to promote a new model of excavation in order to enhance dissemination of archaeological labours to the society, incorporating new technologies suitable for all audiences. The introduction of new technologies such as digital tablets becomes key in the communication strategy and allows a better interaction between public and archaeological knowledge.
