Abstract

In this work, the stability, dispersion and particle size of Ni nanoparticles supported in CaO (27)-SiO2 after 24 hours of reaction in dry methane reforming (DRM) is analyzed by HRTEM. The distribution of the Ni particles in the support is very irregular, both in the solids pretreated in hydrogen atmosphere and in those used in the DRM reaction, this means that, there are areas with very little Ni content, in both, reduced and used catalysts and some areas with a high concentration of Ni particles. The formation of a large amount of carbon fibers is also detected in the used catalysts.
