Abstract
This article is a historical overview of Technical Training in Spain from the draft of the General Education Law (LGE) of 1970 to the present moment. The contribution of the LGE in the field of Technical Training is analysed, some data about its situation in the mineties are offered and the new Technical training regulated by the Ley de Ordenación General del Sistema of 1990 is presented with a critical assesment concerned with the tmatment of thr rural areas giring as example what has lhappened in a Autonomoons Region with rural characteristics such as Castilla y León.
