Zusammenfassung

We present a parallel reading of the same episode, the birth of Cyrus, as recounted in the Alphonsine General estoria and in the Grant crónica de Conquiridores, by Juan Fernández de Heredia. The source in both cases is Justin. The texts are offered without any scholarly, cultural, literary or linguistic commentary, in the hope that they will serve as a stimulus for future studies of the Grand Master's production.
